What if there was a Wizard of Oz 2009 remake?

What if they did a remake of the Wizard of Oz today? Who would play who and how would the story line play out? I mean, it obviously needs to be updated for the times but how? Because I have issues and a vivid imagination, I decided to rework the characters just a little bit and do a bit of casting in these updated roles too. I only took a look at some of the main roles in the movie. I encourage you to share your thoughts in the comments section with potential supporting cast or even additional suggestions to these roles. Enjoy.

Scarecrow: The Scarecrow would be made out of weed and would be constantly smoking himself. The role would be played by Snoop Dogg. Understudy: Lil Wayne. Wayne would be a strong back up option in this role and his version of the scarecrow would also include a red cup. Don’t ask what’s in the cup however because that’s the Scarecrow’s business.

Tinman: The Tinman would be fighting his own homosexuality and constantly “pausing” and inserting “no homo” into statements. The role would be played by Bow Wow. Understudy: Omarion. Omarion would be a strong back up option but his contract would demand that his baby hair show in the Tinman suit.

Cowardly Lion: The Cowardly Lion would be a wannabe thug, living a fake life and pretending to be a goon. The role would be played by Plies. Understudy: Rick Ross. Rick would be a strong back up option in this role because, 1) he’s big and 2) he’s a bawse! Plus putting on a “costume” and bullying people is something he may have (allegedly) done in his former work.

Dorothy: Dorothy would be a basic chick, constantly on her hoe shit. Lost in the world but other women look up to her for some reason. The role would be played by Nicki Minaj. Understudy: Amy Winehouse. Amy would be a strong back up option in this role because, well basically she needs work and she definitely meets the definition of basic. However, when the Munchkins tell her to follow the yellow brick road, she’ll say “no, no, no.”

Wizard of Oz: Emerald City would be ala “The Carter” from New Jack City and with that said, you may think I would pick Wesley Snipes to play the role of the Wizard of Oz. Nah, because there is only one person that could play the Wizard and that’s Cee-Lo Green. Cee-Lo just looks like a wizard of sorts, so why the hell not. I’m pretty sure he probably already has the costume in his collection too. No understudy needed because he’ll knock it out of the park.

Good Witch: Glinda the Good Witch would be played by Janelle Monae. Understudy: Janelle Monae’s robot alter ego.

Wicked Witch: The Wicked Witch of the West would be played by Mo’Nique. Understudy: Tameka Raymond. Judging on accounts by Usher, Tameka would fit into this role very nicely.
